Whether you’ve just started dating or have been married for 10 years, Valentine’s Day is always fun to celebrate. It doesn’t even matter if you don’t have a significant other – celebrate how much you love yourself because you is kind, you is smart, & you is important. One of my love languages is actually receiving gifts (WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT). So put down those cliche red roses & that heart shaped box filled with mystery chocolates because I have some better ideas in store for you. read more
I have found the holy grail of shampoo/conditioners. Everyone, meet Function of Beauty – A brand of shampoo/conditioner that is completely customizable to meet your hair’s every need. I was so anxious to get my hands on this when I had first heard about it. The reviews were all amazing and I thought it was too good to be true but I was SO wrong. However, the only hang up I have about it was that it took FOREVER to ship but when you are ordering something that is uniquely tailored for you then I deem it acceptable (and because I also ordered this in the middle of the holiday season). In order to purchase you fill out a questionnaire (which took me 3 minutes max) about your hair type, hair structure and scalp moisture (mine were straight, fine, & oily) and this determines the base formula. Next, you pick your 5 hair goals (mine were color protection, volumize, fix split ends, thermal protection, & lengthen). Then you choose from four different fragrance options (I chose Sandalwood Violet which smells incredible). Then you select a color for the shampoo and conditioner! Function of Beauty products don’t contain any toxins or harmful chemicals such as parabens, sulfates, etc. Another reason I love this brand is because they are cruelty-free and never test on animals. They are also made right here in the US of A as well. So all in all they’re a pretty kick-ass company. read more
Alright this is probably one of the most important blog posts I will ever do. So sit down, buckle up, & let me learn you some knowledge. A proper undergarment is essential to EVERY. SINGLE. OUTFIT. you will ever wear in your life. I’m serious when I say that it can make or break any attire because there is nothing that bothers me more than visible bra or panty lines. Therefore, I strongly urge all women to go & get CORRECTLY sized. I do not recommend going to Victoria’s Secret for this because on both occasions they have measured me incorrectly which lead me to buying ill-fitting bras that made me uncomfortable all day long. Thankfully, one of my closest friends who is extremely knowledgeable about this subject measured me, made some great recommendations, & I have never looked back! read more
Alright, so not only do I love to hoard perfumes because they smell amazing but also because of how gorgeous the bottles look displayed on a mirrored tray in my bathroom *heart eyes emoji* If you’re needing a new signature scent I definitely recommend heading on over to Sephora, testing some out, then ask if they can put that particular fragrance in a sample bottle. I was notorious for doing this the weeks leading up to my wedding. However, I have finally narrowed all of them down to three favorites and trust me when I say they will not disappoint. I was so excited to learn that I would be attending a black tie optional NYE wedding. Obviously, the first thing I thought is, “what will I wear?” Since it was on a holiday the attire would be more formal than most weddings I’ve been to. I started looking at different gowns on Rent The Runway which is a total lifesaver for any event you have to go to! I used it all throughout college for sorority formals. The dresses I looked at were either too dressy or not dressy enough. That’s when I thought about wearing a jumpsuit. I’m on the petite side so rompers and jumpsuits (in my opinion) elongate my body & I’m just in love with them. If I could find one that was formal enough for NYE then it was a go. Luckily, I found this gorgeous silky, blush-colored jumpsuit on Revolve (which is my biggest weakness when it comes to online shopping). I decided to pair it with a gray wrap from Target because I’m all about mixing high & low end clothing. I also accessorized it with some nude block heels because they literally go with anything and added a few layers of dainty chokers/lariats.
This past fall I started to notice that mini skirts were starting to become a thing again. I’ve even surprisingly been seeing some denim minis on the rise. Maybe this time around we can wear them with something a little bit more chic than Uggs but I digress. I’m especially into those skirts with gorgeous detailing- think lots of buttons, front pockets, etc. I was also loving all the different materials and textures the skirts came in such as leather, velvet, and corduroy- perfect for fall or winter. I think that jewel tone colors are perfect for this season but you also can’t go wrong with neutral colors either. If I lived somewhere colder (Atlanta rarely gets below 40) I would love nothing more than to pick out some fun tights to pair with it. read more
