So I don’t know if any of you all have noticed but lately ‘oil’ in the skincare world is a hot item right now. It’s funny because several years ago a ton of beauty products were all about being ‘oil-free’ because it had a pretty bad reputation. Back then, putting oil on your face seemed pretty counter-intuitive because we already have oils that our faces produce naturally. However, we are finding out that facial oil can have some pretty amazing benefits – ESPECIALLY those who have dry or flaky skin as it is the key to having a hydrated and soft face. If you’re not super keen on putting oil on your face you can always start small and put a little drop in your daily or nighttime moisturizer. That’s normally what I do and have seen a difference in my complexion because it looks so much brighter and my face is incredibly soft. Below are a few of my favorite oil based facial products.
So a few weeks ago I finally decided to give in and make an appointment with an esthetician and try dermaplaning. For those of you who don’t know what dermaplaning is- it’s a non-invasive procedure in which the top layer of dead skin cells gets scraped away as well as those teeny tiny vellus hairs (also known as peach fuzz). Before you ask- no the hair does not grow back darker or thicker. That is a MYTH! It grows back the exact same as it was before. By the end of the procedure your face is supposed to be smoother, brighter, and more youthful. Before/After pictures are below as well as my own personal review and FYI I did not use any filters, effects, etc. It’s the real deal!
I don’t think there’s anything more classic than a pair of dark denim jeans and a flow-y crisp white tank. If I had to wear an outfit everyday for the rest of my life that’s hands down what I would pick. So for this outfit I put more of a summer twist on it by wearing denim cut-offs and a collared short sleeve white tunic. I fell in love with this top when I first saw and am planning on transitioning it to a fall outfit with some leather leggings/OTK boots/& lots of gold accessories, but before I get ahead of myself let’s enjoy the last few weeks of summer! The top also comes in a chambray color as well that is just as gorgeous PLUS it’s on sale! Outfit details are below!
I loooooove a good pair of loafers, and lately i’ve been obsessing over these gorgeous tassel loafers! They’re super comfortable, and I love the more casual look with loafers that just slide on your feet. They come in tons of different colors and come in leather as well for a more polished look. The top I have on is one of my spring/summer favorites from Lou & Grey. If you all don’t know about Lou & Grey they are the sister store to Loft. Their looks are more casual than Loft and are sometimes a little pricier, but I feel like the material they use is better than Loft so you get what you pay for. I am always drooling over anything in their ‘signature soft’ collection. The material is so soft and cozy and they are perfect for everyday wear, but I love to wear any ‘signature soft’ pieces when I’m traveling! The jeans I have on are Madewell but were way too long on me so instead of getting them hemmed (YOU GUESSED IT) I did a DIY raw hem! Outfit details are below.
So I am a serial shirt stealer, especially with any of Drew’s shirts because they’re comfortable, broken in, and oversized. However, I may have found one that is dare I say…. better. The material is so soft, light, and is the right amount of slouchy. I definitely think you can dress it up or down and can be worn in any season. I’ve worn it with jeans/leggings/shorts/etc. You can tuck it in or leave it out. IT’S SO FREAKING VERSATILE!! There are tons of different color options as well and am contemplating getting it in another color because I wear this one ALL. THE. TIME. Plus it also looks killer with your hair up so you can show off that décolletage. Outfit details are below!
MORE. STRIPES. *say it louder for the people in the back* I’m back with yet another fab & comfy stripe-y top. It’s a navy/white wrap top and has a drape-y silhouette along with a button attached at the top so I wore it as a v-neck but you could also unbutton it and wear it as an open wrap top with a cute tank underneath! Unfortunately, the top just sold out at Anthro but I’ve linked a few other very similar styles as well! I paired these with my favorite white skinny jeans that I did a DIY raw hem on and now I wear them more than ever. I think raw hems look so much more chic and fitted than cuffed jeans. I’ve added some white skinny jeans that already have a raw hem as well as the original skinny jean I’m wearing that I added the raw hem to! All outfit details are below.
Hi all! So I’m definitely more of a plain jane when it comes to patterns, colors, etc. but one thing that I have always loved are some stripes! I think they’re subtle but visually appealing at the same time and can definitely give your outfit a little pop. I have been wearing this top basically all summer long because it’s so light and comfortable. You can tie the front to make it a high-low top or leave it as is. You could pair it with just about anything, but I love a good pair of white shorts to pull it all together. No joke- I’ve had these shorts since college and they are my favorite pair. I’m worried they may spontaneously combust one day because I’ve worn them for just about a dozen springs & summers. Not to mention they are the perfect length as well! Outfit details are listed below.
So on a typical day I just swipe a few applications of mascara on my lashes and I’m good to go. However, if there is a special event coming up I like to take a little extra time to make my eyelashes look fabulous. I’m not a fan of false lashes because I tend to have dry eyes so if they water then the glue starts coming undone as well as my false lashes and its an absolute mess. So, after constant testing and researching different products I have the most perfect formula to get those gorgeous lashes!
Alright I’m having to change my format a little bit on this product review because of how many things I squeezed in this post so just bare with me! I honestly feel like applying make-up can be a breeze if you have the right tools. My husband and I travel a lot and there was one time where I forgot a lot of my make-up brushes. I ran into the nearest drugstore and just bought the cheapest brushes with no thorough research whatsoever (CRINGE). I could tell a MASSIVE difference when I was done applying my make-up. Nothing looked smooth or even which made my face look like a hot mess. It wasn’t up until that point that I realized just how important it was to have a good collection of brushes. Think of it this way.. you are an artist about to paint your face and for that you need the correct tools/brushes in order to achieve the perfect finished product, AKA your beautiful face!
